I bought a 24 set of Himi gouache and it came in an artist's set with a paint pad, brushes, and some Himi gouache anti mold spray, which has kept my palette moist and mold free and I have had the palette for 3 yrs now. I bought a large zip up pouch to keep the packet of Him I gouache in, and that has helped my set not to dry out. Every 4-5 months I spray the paints with the spray to stop the mold and that has kept the paints fresh and they have not dried out at all.

Arteza really have some nerve to act like their paints have any real pigments included, when they clearly are dye based. Giorgione has the same watercolors (these are white-labeled, Arteza buys them from a chinese supplier, they don't make them). But at least Giorgione doesn't lie about having pigments in their paints. And they also don't charge as much as Arteza does. Seriosuly, Arteza is such a scam company to me. They sell cheap, low quality chinese stuff for premium prices.

Hi Sandra, thank you for your reply. I put the oil pastels in the microwave on LOW for that time, they only have enough time to soften a little. if they were in there at a higher temperature for longer I would expect them to melt and give off fumes..

I tried oil pastels in art class in highschool but I started to actually desire to master the skill of painting with oil painting and pastels. I also noticed the oil pastels in highschool we're not as oily as the ones in my art kit. I have various media but I have not used the oil pastels or paint it since I bought it. I decided since it was a expensive art set or kit, I wanted to look into techniques using oil painting and pastels before practicing in my sketchbooks. Thank you for sharing your techniques. I am most experienced with graphite and charcoal and somewhat experienced with acrylic. This winter I am planning to work with different media from graphite more realist art to marker, oil, clay, and water color paint and pencil. Working with not so new and new media will help me focus on improvement during the colder weather when it is not so comfortable to travel or stay outside. 🤗❤️👍🏾💯

I haven't had any of the "problems" you mentioned with Reeve's. This gouache is very cheap compared to professional grade paints, that means it's meant for students and beginners. Personally, when I use expensive art supplies, I feel an "obligation" to make good art or else it's wasting my money. But obviously, when you start out, you're not going to get good results. This is why I like cheap paints and cheap supplies: I can learn, experiment and do horrible mistakes without feeling like I've wasted my money. It's just less stress for me.

This! I’ve seen soooooooo many bad reviews of reeves paints but I’ve just started out and they don’t feel bad, I’ve gotten some really nice paintings with them! plus they are super cheap (at least in my country) so as you said I can enjoy messing up and laughing at myself when I make mistakes as I’m learning and don’t feel guilt having to make something perfect every time.
